Help Me Bring My First Solo Record Into the World
I am recording my first ever solo record - my biggest, most personal musical project yet!
For nearly 2 decades, my working and musical life has been gently spent accompanying people at the end of their lives - nurturing fading bedsides through the mystical universe of music.
In these sacred spaces, music becomes a container that holds fear, love, sorrow, release;
each moment offered with intention & care.
This work shaped how I listen, how I sing, how I write songs, and how I move through the world.
I offer this same tenderness to this record.
I believe these songs carry light for heavy times and hold grief and hope together.
They are an offering - a quiet place to land, to remember ourselves, to feel less alone.
I am making this record independently and I am inviting my community to help bring it into the world.
Making a record is a deeply collaborative endeavor, and it's also an expensive one. Without the support of a record label or investor, every part of the process is made possible through the generosity of people who believe in the work. Throughout history, artists have relied on patrons and community support to create meaningful art, and I'm grateful to be able to ask for that same kind of partnership.
My goal is to raise $25,000 to complete this project. Those funds will support the remarkable and gifted folks who are helping bring these songs to life, including the producer, recording studio & engineers, studio musicians, travel & lodging, mixing engineer, mastering, album artwork, promotion & release support, videographer, distribution costs, and vinyl, CD & cassette production.
