Welcome, I'm Marlo!
For as long as memory serves me, music has been my preferred conduit of connection - to self, others, the world, and the universe. It is a force that holds powers beyond what we can comprehend. Music is an energetic expression, a container, a guiding resource through challenging times. It is a direct reflection of one's well-being and a way of communication. I believe that each individual has their own unique and complex relationship and connection with music made of many layers. As a compassionate, person-centered music therapist, I seek to deeply understand people's musical connections, life stories, strengths, assess holistic functioning and creatively discover how to provide comfort during challenging times.

Working full time in end-of-life care since 2008 has offered me a deep and comforting understanding of death, dying but especially living. The wisdom and perspective I have gleaned from my elders and from being a part of this rite of passage has had profound spiritual impact on how I live everyday, as well as my relationships with others.

I have been a board certified music therapist since 2009. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Music Performance at the University of New Hampshire and when I craved more, I earned my Masters of Music Therapy in 2010 from Temple University. I am a certified Hospice & Palliative Care Music Therapist (HPMT) through the Center of Music Therapy in End of Life Care, and a Fellow of the Association of Music and Imagery (FAMI). I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) and enjoy bringing in breath work, alignment and body awareness into my work.

Other Things . . .
I currently live in the sweet and lush woods of Fallbrook, California with my shining star daughter and our menagerie of pets. Besides music, I thrive from having my hands in the dirt and helping and watching things grow, inside and outside. I am happiest in nature and enjoy deeply connecting with the beautiful natural landscape and observing how it evolves. Laughter feeds my soul and I am fortunate to be surrounded by friends and family that enjoy laughter the way I do. I always have various music projects going on, the most active of which is my indie band Please Ask for Paul. I get excited by anything that stimulates my imagination and evokes creativity.
